Shareholders’ fairs
As part of membership services expansion, we are about to introduce a cycle of shareholders’ fairs which aim at informing you and your members about high- potential listed companies from different sectors in various countries. These events create a great opportunity to exchange useful information, to create valuable contacts and to obtain information about possibilities of successful investment abroad.
However, it is important to mention that WFIC provides information and educational programs but does not recommend specific investments.
We will soon provide you with details of the first event.

The decade of 2000 stock market performance
The Wall Street Journal reported that the decade of 2000 saw the worst stock market performance in history! “A nightmare”, was one description. Others suggested it would have been better to put your money under your mattress. Many investors were lured to the market by the 17.6% average annual return in the 1990’s. But then companies just got too expensive (too highly valued), then dividends were cut, then the disaster of 2008. S&P 500 lost an average of 3.8%/year (inflation adjusted). In the 1930’ decade there was a 1.8% average annual gain.

Euroshareholders General Assembly in Warsaw, Poland
From June 11th to June 13th, 2009 WFIC members attended Euroshareholders’ meeting in Warsaw, which was hosted by Polish Shareholders Association. The official part of the meeting was held in the premises of the Warsaw Stock Exchange and was enriched by speeches by, amongst others, Ms Lidia Adamska, a member of the Warsaw Stock Exchange Management Board, and Przemyslaw Kwiecien, a chief economist of X –Trade Brokerage House. The participants learned a lot about the high potential of a Polish stock market and the current economic situation in Poland. The official part of the meeting was followed by a superb cultural trip in Warsaw and Krakow. Refined lunches and dinners were a good occasion to exchange views and establish new contacts.
